Backflow Testing & Installation

Backflow Testing & Compliance Experts

Backflow prevention devices are installed to prevent contamination of the water system. These devices stop water from flowing backward into the system. Commercial and industrial businesses are required by the Macon Water Authority (MWA) or other local water systems to have their backflow devices tested once per year.

As a business owner, we know you are busy. Testing your backflow prevention device is just one more thing to worry about. At Ricky Heath Plumbing, we make the process easy by not only testing your backflow prevention device, but also:

  • Inspecting your device and recommending replacement when necessary
  • Reminding you when your next test is scheduled
  • Sending required paperwork and verification forms to the MWA

Most of the time, backflow devices are above ground and not buried, meaning we won’t have to dig to test it. For some irrigation systems, the devices may be buried, and we have the equipment to find them and conduct the proper tests and inspections.

Why Is Backflow Prevention Important?

Backflow prevention devices protect the local water supply by blocking pollutants from entering the system. This protects both you and your neighbors, ensuring the community does not drink potentially contaminated water. It’s important to test your device annually to make sure it’s working properly and guard our drinking water supply.
